5 out of 5 starsWonderful artist! Beautiful item! Support traditional craft and artisans whenever you can! The photos don’t show just how beautiful these are! Absolutely a perfect gift! I asked for some extra information to be included about the craft, meanings, and history for my wife. The artist went above and beyond! It’s so special. Can’t thank enough! 🧡❤️

5 out of 5 starsThe seller, Yuki, was absolutely amazing to work with. She was very professional and was willing to work with me on the design to give my daughter what she wanted. I will DEFINITELY be suggesting this store to people and buying from her again.

There are more than 300 different ways to make one kumihimo in Japan.
-
Every piece is handcrafted by the artist with their heart and soul.
-
Silk thread is very fine and is treated with great care by the artist.
-
We use different types of stands depending on the work. This is a round base.
Kumihimo is an ancient and traditional Japanese culture. We bring you beautiful and handsome Kumihimo.
Kumihimo has a long history and has been a part of Japanese traditional culture for over a thousand years. Kumihimo is now mainly used as an obi cord for kimonos, but it takes about 672 silk threads, about 2.8 meters long, to make one obi cord. The craftsmen assemble the fine silk threads in the traditional way, using a braided table. The interesting thing about braided silk is that, depending on the way it is braided, even if the same color thread is used, it can change into various expressions.
We are creating new Kumihimo for you to enjoy traditional Kumihimo in a modern and easy way. We hope you will enjoy our Kumihimo.
