Ich hatte schon immer den Wunsch, Dinge ganz individuell zu gestalten. Meine Kleidung musste ein bestimmtes Muster haben und ein bestimmtes Aussehen haben. Regale sollten genau die richtige Höhe und Breite für meine Sachen haben. Meine Einkaufstasche für Conventions sollte alles aufnehmen, was ich kaufen würde, und gleichzeitig alle meine Pins präsentieren. Ich wollte clevere Cosplays mit einzigartigen Details, die andere begeistern würden. Ich wollte die Dinge auf meine Art gestalten, damit sie genau so werden, wie ich sie mir vorstelle. Dadurch habe ich mir ein breites Spektrum an Fähigkeiten angeeignet und gelernt, all diese Dinge von Hand nach meinen genauen Vorgaben herzustellen. Werkzeuge und Maschinen machten die Herstellung besser, schneller und einfacher. Und dann wollte ich meine Designs und Kreationen mit der Welt teilen. Ich denke darüber nach, was ich mache, wie ich es mache und warum ich es mache. Und ich schöpfe Leidenschaft und Energie aus dem Erschaffen meiner Träume. Ich verbringe Stunden damit, darüber nachzudenken, wie etwas sein soll, und ich möchte einzigartig sein. Beyond Basic Geek basiert auf dem Wunsch, über das Einfache und Grundlegende hinauszugehen. Jeder könnte etwas völlig Neues erschaffen, aber ich möchte clever und durchdacht designen. Ich möchte, dass die Leute meine Kreationen sehen und denken: „Das war wirklich clever!“ oder: „Daran habe ich nie gedacht!“ Ich möchte auffallen. Ich möchte einzigartig sein. Ich möchte über mich hinauswachsen. Beyond Basic Geek ist Teil meines Strebens, außergewöhnlich zu sein und der Welt Kreativität zu schenken.

I've always had a desire in life that I wanted to have things a very specific way. My clothes had to look a certain way with a certain pattern. I wanted shelves to be the exact right height and width to fit what I was putting there. My tote bag for conventions had to carry everything I might buy and show off all my pins at the same time. I wanted to have clever cosplays with unique features that wowed others. I wanted to make things my way and that's how I know they would be exactly how I imagined. This led to me gaining a wide array of skills to learn how to make all these things by hand to my exact specifications. Tools and machines made it better, faster, and easier to make them, and then I wanted to share my designs and craftings with the world. I think about what I make, how I make it, why I make it, and I gain passion and energy from creating the things I dream up in my head. I'll spend hours thinking about how I want something to be and I want to be unique. Beyond Basic Geek comes from a foundation of wanting to go beyond the simple and the basic. Anybody could create something that would be perfectly fine, but I want to design cleverly and thoughtfully. I want people to see my creations and think to themselves, "That was really smart," or, "I never thought about doing THAT!" I want to stand out. I want to be unique. I want to go beyond. Beyond Basic Geek is part of my pursuit to be amazing and bring creativity to the world.
