The card deck I created is a passion project.
My day job is working as a neurofeedback practitioner. In that work, most of the people I see are taking a big leap to try and take care of themselves, which I applaud. Still, there is so much else that could be done to feel better, and it doesn’t involve years-long therapy or self-improvement projects. It involves simple steps toward self-awareness and self-compassion.
One day during coffee with a colleague, I lamented that I wanted to write a book on self-care that would address what I see, yet the people who would benefit the most from a book on self-care were way too busy to read it. What was the point?
My colleague told me that she had a solution: create a deck of cards instead. I hardly knew what a deck of cards even was, but she was adamant that this would help get my message into the hands of people who need it most, in a way that they could manage.
So, I went shopping. I bought a bunch of card decks and learned how they work. My friend is right! Cards are fun, informative, and potentially transformative. They are also versatile, allowing for bite-sized moments or for deep dives, depending upon your time and inclination.
The card deck you’ll find in my store is the culmination of the effort to reach people in a beautiful and approachable way. I may someday create new decks, and I know I’ll soon be creating an online class on how to overcome obstacles to self-care.
For now, I hope you’ll enjoy the beauty of the cards and the gentleness of the messages.

5 out of 5 starsI have this deck as a Christmas present and my friend is using a card each week for journaling. She has said that they have really helped her start a journaling habit as well as inspiring her to take care of herself more. I think these are wonderful for women struggling to make time for themselves.
