I’m Anthony — Semper Fi, and welcome to catchtherip
I’m a United States Marine Veteran and Wounded Warrior Alumni. CatchTheRip started as a hobby with my 8-year-old. We were drowning in school and sports, so we started selling Pokémon and collectibles together. It gave us a reason to hunt, trade, and just hang out that wasn’t a screen or a scoreboard.

How painting found me
Painting wasn’t the plan. I picked up Warhammer minis as personal therapy time. Something about focusing on tiny details shut the rest of the world up for a while. That turned into painting things I actually enjoy — landscapes, fish, wildlife, my doberman. the kind of scenes I’d want on my wall.

Here’s the funny part: I can’t draw a stick figure to save my life. But when I put a brush in my hand, it’s chaos on a canvas — and somehow that chaos turns into something real. All my outdoor paintings are done in acrylic on canvas, usually late at night after the house goes quiet.

Collectibles & Pokémon: Father-son picks, pulled from our own trades and hunts. If my kid thinks it’s cool, it’s probably in the shop.
Fan Art NOT TCG
Original acrylic paintings: Coastal scenes, outdoors, and whatever I felt while the brush was moving. No prints, no tracing. Each canvas is one of one, with all the texture and rough edges that come from painting by feel, not by rules.
How I create
I’m not classically trained I start with a color or a mood and let the brush go over someoutline. That means every painting has flaws. Drips, thick paint, a wave that maybe shouldn’t be there. I leave them in. That’s the therapy part, and honestly, that’s the part people connect with.

Orders are packed by me in my streaming office, usually with my kid “inspecting” the bubble wrap. I ship fast, but if I’m at a VA appointment or a baseball game, I’ll let you know.

CatchTheRip keeps me grounded, gives me time with my son, and proves you don’t have to be an artist to make art. If you pick up something from the shop, you’re supporting a veteran, a dad, and a guy who still can’t draw a stick figure.
