Meu nome é Trisha Delacruz "Newe" e sou um membro registrado da Tribo Fallon Paiute Shoshone aqui em Fallon, Nevada, onde moro com minha família.
Newe significa "o povo" em nossa língua shoshone. Gostamos de criar peças bonitas para "o povo". Newe também era um apelido meu quando eu era mais novo chamado Mooey, porque moramos no país onde há muitas vacas. Minha irmã mais nova apareceu (que também está ajudando na criação em nossa loja) e ela começou a me chamar de NEWE. Esse nome pegou e até hoje meus parentes me chamam de Newe.
Eu faço artesanato porque é divertido. Eu me sinto relaxado, isso me dá tempo para fazer algo por mim mesmo. Sou inspirado por coisas que vejo ao longo do dia, o sol, o nascer do sol, o pôr do sol, o clima e as flores desabrochando. Eu nunca perco a menos que esteja com uma boa mentalidade, sentimentos felizes e boa energia. Gosto de aprender com outros artesãos de miçangas em pow wows e feiras de artesanato. Minha família e amigos me incentivam a criar peças que me deixem feliz e animado. Espero que quem receba essas peças goste tanto quanto eu quando vi o produto finalizado.

A Etsy e a Nest têm o orgulho de apoiar o Indigenous Artisans Collective dentro do Etsy Uplift Makers Program, apresentando lojas de fabricantes indígenas afiliados a 10 grupos indígenas nos Estados Unidos e nas Primeiras Nações do Canadá.

My name is Trisha Delacruz " Newe" and I am a registered member of the Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribe here in Fallon, Nevada where I live with my family.
Newe means "the people" in our shoshone language. We like to create beautiful pieces for "the people". Newe also was a nickname of mine when I was younger first called Mooey, because we live in the country where there are a lot of cows. My younger sister came along (who is also assisting in creating in our shop) and she started calling me NEWE. This name stuck and to this day my relatives call me Newe.
I make crafts because it's enjoyable. I feel relaxed it gives me time to do something for myself. I am inspired by things I see throughout the day, the sunshine, sunrise, sunset, the weather and flowers blossoming. I never bead unless I am in a good mind set, happy feelings, and good energy. I enjoy learning from other beadwork craftsman at pow wows and craft fairs. My family and friends encourage me to create pieces that make me happy and excited. I hope whoever receives these pieces enjoy them as much as I did when I saw the finished product.

About the Indigenous Artisans Collective
Etsy and Nest are proud to support the Indigenous Artisans Collective within the Etsy Uplift Makers Program, featuring shops from Indigenous makers affiliated with 10 Indigenous groups across the United States and the First Nations of Canada.
Many of the makers practice craft skills that have been inspired by or passed down from family and community mentors. Product collections include meticulously handcrafted home goods, jewelry and other accessories, in honor of the maker’s culture and heritage. Amongst many Indigenous communities, traditional handcraft continues to hold significant cultural value, as well as economic opportunity.
Through the Uplift Makers: Indigenous Artisans Collective, Etsy and Nest are helping to create digital market access and economic opportunities for Indigenous makers while also providing artisans with resources and tools to help run a successful online business. From expert-led digital marketing training, onboarding support, and a custom resource library, the program delivers a comprehensive suite of programming to participants. Additionally, the program addresses key barriers new business owners face such as providing professional photography to capture the creative content needed to showcase their talent and reach new customers in today’s digital era.
