Cuando pinto, mi lienzo se convierte en una máquina del tiempo. Al usar mi pincel para acceder a los espacios íntimos de la memoria y el hogar, puedo regresar a un lugar que ahora solo existe en la mente. Con capas de pintura al óleo en suaves tonos tierra y joya, transmito nostalgia por un lugar al que deseamos volver, o incluso un anhelo por un lugar que nunca hemos visitado. A través de mi pincelada, exploro estos espacios dinámicos, a menudo elásticos, que dialogan íntimamente con los conceptos de maternidad, hogar y tiempo: la pintura densa y texturizada afirma la dignidad de estas reflexiones, mientras que los delicados veladuras revelan su fragilidad. Al explorar estos temas a través de la pintura, busco ralentizar y capturar momentos que de otro modo serían fugaces: expresiones de cariño, recuerdos familiares, rutinas reconfortantes.
Encuentro belleza en la tensión entre el inexorable avance del tiempo, los ritmos necesarios y enriquecedores del trabajo y cómo dialogan con los espacios de la vida doméstica donde podemos encontrar descanso. Si bien mi expresión artística es profundamente personal, conecta con un anhelo que todos albergamos en el corazón: el espacio del hogar como un refugio tranquilo y un archivo en constante evolución de la familia y de uno mismo. Mi obra utiliza retratos de gran intimidad emocional y viñetas nostálgicas de objetos y alimentos cotidianos, así como diseños de superficies de época, para extender el concepto de hogar más allá de sus límites físicos. En mis pinturas, nada se considera demasiado insignificante como para no ser catalogado como una reliquia del alma, desde un tazón de cereal a medio terminar hasta un violín transmitido de generación en generación y a través de fronteras migratorias.

When I paint, my canvas becomes a time machine. By using my brush to tap into the intimate spaces of memory and home, I am able to step back into a place that now only exists in the mind. With layers of oil paint in soft color tones of earth and jewel, I convey a nostalgia for a place that we want to return to, or even a longing for somewhere we have never been. Through my brushwork, I explore these dynamic, and often elastic spaces, which are in intimate conversation with the concepts of motherhood, home and time: thick and textural paint assert the dignity of these reflections, while delicate glazes reveal their fragility. By navigating these themes through paint, I seek to slow down and hold otherwise fleeting moments: expressions of care, familiar keepsakes, comforting routines.
I find beauty in the tension between the constant, forward-march of time, necessary and nurturing rhythms of work and how they converse with the areas of domestic life where we can find rest. Although my artistic expression is deeply personal, it taps into a room of longing in the heart which we all possess: the space of home as both a quiet place of shelter and an ever-evolving archive of family and self. My artwork uses emotionally intimate portraiture and nostalgic vignettes of familiar household items and foods, as well as vintage household surface design patterns, to stretch the concept of home beyond the boundaries of its physical walls. In my paintings, nothing is considered too insignificant to be catalogued as an heirloom of the mind, from a half-finished bowl of cereal, to a violin passed down through generations and across immigration borders.
