I'm a geologist by education (MS - Michigan Technological University, BA - Colby College) and a programmer by trade. I started out in the environmental sciences, investigating hazardous waste sites, monitoring remedial actions, and supporting expert witnesses. In the mid-2000s I left consulting and switched to research, modeling satellite data for the MISC Lab at the University of Maine and developing websites for the National Science Foundation. Eventually I migrated to ODYSEA LLC, a NASA partner, where I programmed comprehensive websites to explain NASA's ocean science missions. I now write custom development kits and snippets for Bootstrap-powered websites using a simple text editor.
