Customizing your obsession.
It was an accident that I stumbled on Court of Thorns and Roses in the beginning of 2017. I saw a teaser on Instagram and looked up the book. I was an avid reader and indie author of adult romance. Young adult fantasy was out of my comfort zone. I was bored and feeling like I needed a change, so I read the book. I was surprised how much I loved a story so very different than what I usually read and wrote. Maybe I needed an escape from the real world and real people for a while. Maybe I needed magic and fantasy in my life at that point.
So began my new found love (obsession) for new adult and fantasy. I started collecting hardcovers of all my favorites, finding fan art, and collecting bookish candles. I discovered a whole new world and community of readers. My love for Books was renewed and amplified.
Then I found the funko pops. So adorable and cute. They were perfect for my growing collection and overflowing bookshelves. I wanted them everywhere and for all of my favorite books. When I couldn’t find the characters I wanted, I decided to try to make it myself. I researched for weeks, collected supplies, and finally gave it a shot. When the first one turned out good, I tried another. And then another. The art was therapeutic and calming for me as I was in the middle of a writer’s block. This is something I love doing so I opened this shop so I can keep making them and sharing them with you! Anyone that knows me knows I don’t just like something. I love it. I obsess over it. I surround myself with it and shove it in everyone’s face so they love it too. I want to make funko pops all the time because these characters and stories changed my life. Each one in some way - big or small. I hope they do the same for many more. And maybe those people want to surround themselves with their favorite stories and characters too. I smile when I see little funko pops lining my shelves. You should smile too.
