out of passion for passionate people
I started my professional career as a public relation person in an art gallery in my hometown, charming yet sleepy and quiet little place.
I had to find a way to get the message of all those talented artists out into the world and fill the empty exhibition rooms with people.
I quickly realised that online presence is the key to the success. The second thing I found out straight away though, was that the art curators, I got to work with, may be excellent at their jobs but reluctant when it comes to using internet. They found the advanced professional online tools complicated and challenging and obviously, busy with their work, did not have time for mastering new skills.
I couldn't succeed without their help, so I started looking for the ways of achieving the same goal with simple, more friendly to non-tech-savvy users tools.
A year later we were granted the Pro Wikimedia award for the best online presence of all cultural institutions in the country.
Similar feedback coming from the art merchants from all over Europe reassured me that the award was not a stroke of luck and we must had done something right!
Since that time, I’ve had an opportunity to work on many different project for several different companies and what I’ve learned is that I repeatedly come across exactly the same problem - gifted people, great at what they do, yet underappreciated due to their struggle with the technical aspect of promoting their product or service online.
I’ve also learned one thing about myself - I’m passionate about passionate people and love seeing them succeed. Especially all of those one-man startups sprouting out of hobbies, dreams and pure creativity.
We should not be putting any unnecessary obstacles in their way, in particular nothing as trivial as the intimidating technical challenges.
That’s why I’ve devoted myself to helping them quick start their online presence and I'm constantly working on improving the simple ways of managing the content - without the necessity of buying expensive applications or hiring an IT specialist.
