I'm proud to come from a long line of creative folks, which came in handy when I was a broke grad student with champagne taste and a water budget (beer was too expensive). I spied a beautiful, artsy pair of silver earrings in a boutique window but had to pass them over when I saw the price. Later that day I walked past a bead shop and stopped in to see what raw materials and tools cost. After saving up, I started building my tool and bead collection.

It turned from hobby to obsession when I couldn't pass a bead shop without stopping in to "look around". Of course, I justified it by designing and making one of a kind gifts for my family and friends. How did I end up on Etsy? Well, that was thanks to a wonderful, entrepreneurial friend who also happened to buy just about every piece of jewelry I wore right off me. She encouraged (pushed, prodded) me to sell my jewels on Etsy and to make some money off of my now expensive hobby.

On December 7, 2007, Sherri (owner of The Loopy Ewe: www.theloopyewe.com) blogged about my little shop and *poof* my newly created jewels were all sold out! It’s fun to think about where my earrings are dangling today.
