I have spent over 20 years in the carpentry trade and only just recently have gotten into a different profession. I have always enjoyed working with wood, though i must admit there was always a little something missing while I was building houses. It wasn't until here a few months ago when the thought of making a variety of wood products came to mind, that the idea that this could be another great way of "Magnifying the Master!" My wife and daughters have been a great source of encouragement in getting it all started.
The idea of leaving the wood as natural as possible and at the same time making something that is practical and useable in the home or office was what got me started making these log faced shelves etc.
My raw materials come from small local sawmills here in the piney woods of deep east Texas along with some reclaimed wood from various sources.
I have only sold a few shelves and centerpieces since I started, but I thoroughly enjoy looking at the different natural growth patterns of the wood and figuring out how it might be made into something that will "Magnify the Master's Handicraft."
