Well made, excellent reproduction corrected to modern dates/astronomical locations. Comes with very good and easy to follow instructions.

This Sundial/Nocturnal is a beautifully crafted instrument. The separate components (index, trigonus, etc.) turn cleanly and independently and do not interfere with each other. The markings are clean and easily readable. I tested out the “sundial” part of the instrument and it was accurate enough (as per the instructions, the time of year is not conducive to the best results). I have yet to try out the “nocturnal” part of it, since the night skies here are not the best for observing Polaris, et.al. The instrument has a good, quality heft to it. I love this one!

The quality of this item is excellent. It is large enough to be easily readable and hefty enough to stand up to years of service. I've tested out the "horology" portion of the quadrant (pretty accurate) and look forward to trying out the other features of this device. Shipping was very fast--the item arrived within the week.
