The Legend of Mermaid Tears...

How did sea glass come to be? It could be that glass has been tossed into the ocean, tossed around until smooth for years, or...

Maybe its Mermaid magic blessing us with treasures of the sea! Legend Has it that Sea glass comes to us from mermaids mourning sailors lost at sea. Upon seeing the wreckage of a ship, the vast lost treasures from those on the shore, the mermaids cry and cry, and their tears turn into beautiful sea glass.

This is the story that inspired Mary Beth Dugan to start Mermaid Tears by MB. She has always loved the ocean and all it's treasures, and what started as making a few presents for friends using her sea glass collection, she began her business in 2016. Collecting Seaglass from Newport Rhode Island, where she lives, and grabbing seashells from every beach she visits, she knew the best way to display her finds wasn't by putting them in a box or a jar, but by putting them in artwork. And she loves nothing more than sharing that artwork with you!
