A Papercraft Journey, 15 Years in the Making
Hi, I am PhuocDH, a Vietnamese IT engineer and papercraft enthusiast.
It started way back in 2010 during my college days. At that time, I was fascinated by the possibilities of papercraft and built a lot of models.
In 2015, I moved to Japan. Work life there was demanding, leaving me no time to continue my hobby. Then in 2020, when Covid began, my workload was cut in half and I received a one-year paid leave funded by the government. I decided to return to papercraft — but this time, I created papercraft-maker.com (PaperMaker) as a web-based alternative to Pepakura.
About 1.5 years into PaperMaker's development, Nonitt — a 3D designer from Switzerland — joined me on the project. This was the biggest turning point in my entire papercraft journey. PaperMaker now has around 30,000 monthly active users and has become not just an alternative to Pepakura, but a first choice for many. We also have an active public gallery with 20,000 free models shared by the community.
Now in 2026, Nonitt has stepped away from papercraft design, closed his workshop in France, and returned to Switzerland to embark on a new chapter of his life. He entrusted me with all of his models, and so I opened this Etsy shop — to keep all of his wonderful work accessible to everyone.
