Bienvenido a Revived by Ruby, mi (relativamente) nueva aventura, toma artículos rescatados, chatarra y donados y los revive en algo hermoso, ayudando a mi propia recuperación en el camino 🌈

Digo "relativamente" nuevo porque es algo que siempre me ha gustado hacer; sin embargo, hasta marzo de 2020, en realidad trabajaba a tiempo completo como profesor, un trabajo que me encantaba. A principios de marzo contraje Covid-19, ¡antes de que hubiera pruebas disponibles y, ciertamente, antes de que nadie supiera que duraría tanto tiempo! Ahora, por supuesto, lo conocemos como long-covid.

Más de tres años después, tuve que acostumbrarme a una normalidad completamente nueva. Lo que me di cuenta durante mi recuperación es cuánto el arte y la creatividad son importantes para mis días, y especialmente para mi salud.

Me di cuenta desde el principio que cuando estaba dibujando o pintando, olvidaba todos mis síntomas y simplemente disfrutaba lo que estaba haciendo: ¡magia! Así que aquí estoy ahora... en los últimos años (¡todo se mueve en cámara lenta con el largo covid!) He agregado a mi tienda de Etsy y compartido lo que he estado creando en Instagram @revivedbyruby.

Mis piezas son únicas, únicas y se basan en lo que tengo, por lo que siempre están evolucionando.
Me encanta usar mi entorno y la naturaleza como inspiración. Los animales y las aves del Reino Unido son mis favoritos absolutos, especialmente los mamíferos rurales y de los bosques que me recuerdan los días felices en los que podía caminar por el campo.

Revived by Ruby será una mezcla ecléctica en evolución de todo tipo de cosas que necesitan ser revitalizadas y darles una nueva oportunidad de vida. Quiero revivirlas tal como lo ha hecho el arte por mí 🌈🌞

Welcome to Revived by Ruby, my (relatively) new venture, taking salvaged, scrap and donated items and reviving them into something beautiful, helping my own recovery along the way 🌈

I say ‘relatively’ new as this is something I’ve always loved doing; however up until March 2020, I was actually working full-time as a teacher, a job I loved. In early March I caught Covid-19 - before tests were available and, certainly before anyone knew anything about it lasting so long!!! Now, of course we know it as long-covid.

Over three years later, I’ve had to get used to a whole new normal. What I’ve realised during my recovery is how much art and being creative are important to my days - and especially to my health.

I noticed early on that when I was drawing or painting, I forgot all my symptoms and just enjoyed whatever I was doing- magic!! So here I am now... over the past years (everything moves in slow motion with long-covid!) I’ve added to my Etsy shop and shared what I’ve been creating on Instagram @revivedbyruby.

My pieces are one-offs, unique and rely on whatever I have, so are always evolving.
I love to use my surroundings and nature as inspiration. Uk animals and birds are an absolute favourite- especially woodland and rural mammals that remind me of happy days when I could walk round the countryside.

Revived by Ruby will be an evolving eclectic mix of all sorts of things which need to be revitalised and given a new lease of life - I want to revive them just as art has done for me 🌈🌞
