Bienvenidos a Riroffa. Mi madre, Rita, hace estos bolsos únicos a mano en Lituania. Lleva haciéndolo más de cinco años, pero siempre decía que era "solo por diversión" y los hacía solo para ella y para regalar a sus amigos. Le decía que le encantarían, y hace poco aceptó probar Etsy.
Convirtió la vieja habitación de mi hermano y mía en un cuarto de costura, y ahora es su lugar favorito. Es más feliz cuando clasifica ropa vieja, piezas vintage y telas que ha guardado, y luego las convierte en bolsos. Puede sumergirse en ese proceso creativo durante horas.
Muchos de estos bolsos son reciclados, lo que significa menos residuos y un bolso verdaderamente único. Actualmente me encargo de la parte de Etsy mientras ella está ocupada cosiendo y creando.
Welcome to Riroffa. My mom, Rita, makes these unique bags by hand in Lithuania. She’s been doing it for over five years, but she always said it was “just for fun” and kept making them only for herself and as gifts to friends. I kept telling her people would love them, and eventually just recently she agreed to give Etsy a try.
She turned my and my brother’s old bedroom into a sewing room and that’s her favorite place now. She’s happiest when she’s sorting through old clothes, vintage pieces, and fabrics she’s saved, then turning them into bags. She can disappear into that creative process for hours.
Many of these bags are upcycled, which means less waste and a bag that’s truly one of a kind. I currently run the Etsy side of things while she’s busy sewing and creating.
