Founded in 1910, Sagaraden Nomura is proud to be the only workshop in Kyoto that produces “Raden”, a traditional seashell inlay technique, and Kyoto-style lacquerwork. We continue to produce these special items every day, with our craftsman philosophy committed to the pursuit of seashell luminosity and inlay delicacy and thickness. Ultra-thin layers of 0.1 mm or less are superimposed over and over in an elaborate process resulting in maximum durability and beauty that will endure for ages.
