A little bit about Sew Hello
Hello, I am Mary, founder of Sew Hello Patterns. Sew Hello was started and still runs from a tiny corner in our much-loved eclectic living room on the south western most tip of Africa: Cape Town. After having three (delightful) children in quick succession, I was very aware that the corporate clothing industry was no longer a feasible option for me. So, it was an easy decision to turn what I absolutely love doing (pattern making) into a little business, and so Sew Hello began in September 2022.
A few good to know facts about the origins of Sew Hello Patterns:
- I am fussy about how a garment fits and comfort trumps all
- I lean towards styles that won’t be old news in just one season
- I want people of all sizes to be able to make clothing using Sew Hello patterns
and feel GREAT in them
- I have a background in corporate pattern making and quality assurance, and
therefore, my patterns are constructed thoughtfully and meticulously with a
very high attention to detail
- I include extremely detail illustrations to support the instructions, so that the
maker never feels overwhelmed of confused by the sewing steps
- Sometimes it is not my foot pushing the sewing machine foot pedal - I have
three very enthusiastic helpers when I am sewing up samples :)
