Bienvenidos a Static Light Jewelry. :)
Soy Hollyann Lewis, la creadora detrás del banco de trabajo. Soy originaria de un pequeño pueblo cerca de Boston, Massachusetts, pero actualmente trabajo desde el soleado sur de Florida. Soy madre de dos hijos, amante de la música (y sigo obsesionada con My Chemical Romance), del arte y de todo lo que sea un poco extraño e inesperado.
Comencé a hacer joyas a finales de 2023 después de encontrarme con un colgante y pensar: "Seguro que podría hacer algo parecido". Lo que empezó como una idea para un regalo se convirtió rápidamente en una obsesión, y no he parado de crear desde entonces.
Comencé con el alambrismo y siempre formará parte de mi trabajo, pero la orfebrería se ha convertido en mi verdadera pasión. La plata es mi material predilecto, aunque sigo adorando la calidez del cobre y la riqueza del latón, y seguirán viendo los tres presentes en mis obras.
Últimamente me atraen especialmente las formas abstractas, los detalles inusuales, las siluetas arquitectónicas, las texturas orgánicas y los felices accidentes que surgen entre tener un plan y abandonarlo por completo. No siempre sé en qué se convertirá una pieza cuando empiezo a crearla, y, sinceramente, esa es una de mis partes favoritas.
Obtengo mis metales de proveedores de confianza y mis piedras principalmente de lapidarios y pequeños vendedores estadounidenses, procurando evitar materiales producidos en masa y tallados en talleres clandestinos. Me encanta trabajar con piedras que tienen un carácter propio, especialmente granates, labradoritas y los numerosos y hermosos jaspes y ágatas que se encuentran en todo Estados Unidos.
Entonces, ¿por qué luz estática?
El nombre refleja mi situación creativa actual.
La estática puede distorsionar y oscurecer lo que ves. Pero cuando desaparece, todo se enfoca.
Para mí, esa es una metáfora bastante acertada del proceso de encontrar mi propio estilo: experimentar, cambiar de rumbo, cometer errores, seguir ideas extrañas y, poco a poco, descubrir qué es lo que me representa.
Y luego está la luz.
Siempre me ha atraído la forma en que la luz interactúa con el metal y la piedra: los reflejos, las sombras, las texturas y los pequeños detalles que cambian según cómo se mire la pieza.
Static Light trata sobre ese espacio entre el ruido y la claridad.
La experimentación. Lo inesperado. El proceso de descubrirlo.
Y, con suerte, creando algo interesante en el proceso.

I’m Hollyann Lewis, the maker behind the bench. I’m originally from a small town outside of Boston, Massachusetts, but these days I’m creating from sunny South Florida. I’m a mom of two, a lover of music (who’s still overly obsessed with MCR), art, and all things a little strange and unexpected.
I started making jewelry in late 2023 after stumbling across a pendant and thinking, “I bet I could make something like that.” What started as a gift idea quickly turned into an obsession, and I haven’t stopped making since.
Wire wrapping was where I started, and it will always be part of my work, but metalsmithing has become my true passion. Silver is my preferred medium, though I still love the warmth of copper and the richness of brass, and you’ll continue to see all three make appearances in my work.
These days, I’m especially drawn to abstract forms, unusual details, architectural shapes, organic textures, and the happy accidents that happen somewhere between having a plan and completely abandoning it. I don’t always know what a piece is going to become when I start making it—and honestly, that’s one of my favorite parts.
I source my metals through trusted suppliers and my stones primarily from U.S.-based lapidaries and small sellers, doing my best to avoid mass-produced and sweatshop-cut materials. I love working with stones that have their own character, especially garnets, labradorites, and the many gorgeous jaspers and agates found throughout the United States.
So, why Static Light?
The name is a reflection of where I am creatively.
Static can distort and obscure what you’re seeing. But when it clears, everything comes into focus.
For me, that’s a pretty good metaphor for the process of finding my own style—experimenting, changing direction, making mistakes, following strange ideas, and slowly figuring out what feels like me.
And then there’s the light.
I’ve always been drawn to the way light interacts with metal and stone—the reflections, shadows, textures, and little details that change depending on how you see a piece.
Static Light is about that space between the noise and the clarity.
The experimenting. The unexpected. The process of figuring it out.
And, hopefully, making something interesting along the way.
Thank you for being here and for supporting handmade work. Every piece is designed and made by me, from my little South Florida studio, with a healthy amount of intention, curiosity, and probably some chaos.
