Unique and Personal
La textura, el color y los métodos vanguardistas son las señas de identidad de mi trabajo que considero único y personal. Autodidacta, me inspiro en mis muchos años en diseño y producción teatral. Estoy constantemente ampliando mi uso de objetos encontrados en ensamblajes, pinturas nuevas y antiguas en mis resúmenes y materiales antiguos utilizados de nuevas maneras. Nunca podría producir un tipo de arte una y otra vez; si vuelvo a un estilo es porque realmente lo amo, pero reinventarme todos los días es mi norma. Comienzo cada día preguntándome: "¡Qué cosa hermosa crearás hoy, Susan!" Algunos tardan unos días en quedar bonitos y otros se desechan y se devuelven a la materia prima. No me siento satisfecho fácilmente. Cuando estoy satisfecho, lo firmo, lo fotografío, lo catalogo y lo cuelgo en mis paredes hasta que llega a la tuya. Sí, el arte es un medio para ganarme la vida, pero cada pintura es un pedacito de mí... ¡es un marcado contraste con lo que encontrarías en una tienda de mejoras para el hogar!

Texture, color, and avant-garde methods are the hallmarks of my work which I consider unique and personal. Self-taught, I draw upon my many years in theatre design and production for inspiration. I am constantly expanding my use of found objects in assemblages, new and old paints in my abstracts and old materials used in new ways. I could never produce one type of art over and over again--if I go back to a style its because I really love it, but reinventing myself everyday is my norm. I start each day asking, "what beautiful thing will you create today, Susan!" Some take a few days to get to beautiful, and some get are scrapped and taken back to raw materials--I am not easily satisfied. When I am satisfied, it is signed, photographed, listed and hung on my walls until it reaches yours. Yes, art is a means to making my living, but each painting is a little piece of me...its A Sharp Contrast to what you'd find at a home improvement store!
