My inspiration
Hi everyone! My name is Marie. I’m originally from the Philippines, but I moved to China after meeting my husband in college. I named my shop Mariko because in my language, Tagalog, "ko" means "mine." It’s my way of saying these little creations are a personal part of me and my family.
Our Story: From Train Rides to Your Screen
The photo you see was captured in December 2025. Back then, my husband, along with our daughter, and I spent our days hopping on trains, traveling from town to town with bags full of magnets he designed by himself. We visited every little retail shop we could find, asking if they’d like to carry our work.
While those trips were filled with laughter and adventure, we realized we needed a better way to reach people like you. That’s how we found Etsy!
This shop is our way of sharing:
1. Handcrafted Designs: Magnets decorated with love by my husband and me.
2. Curated Inspiration: Wonderful pieces we discover during our travels that speak to the soul.
This shop is a work in progress, and I'm gradually decorating this little corner to make it more presentable to all of you guys. If you have any feedback, I'd gladly take it as I believe that life is a long journey and we never really stop learning. Thanks for being here! <3
