Our Mother-Daughter Story
Siamo un team madre-figlia di artigiani. Gli inizi del nostro negozio sono avvenuti con una serie di eventi durante il Natale del 2015. Ho sempre amato le creazioni a maglia di mia madre ma ho sempre avuto paura di chiederle gratuitamente perché passa ore a realizzare ogni progetto. Questo Natale aveva un intero cesto di cose che aveva fatto e aveva un free-for-all con la famiglia. Gli oggetti in esso contenuti sono andati in pochi minuti - come una torta davvero buona che ha richiesto ore per essere fatta e divorata in 5 secondi.
A quella stessa festa, mia zia mi chiese a quali nuovi progetti di cucito stavo lavorando. La verità è che ho lavorato su un punto croce per circa 3 anni, ma le ho detto che non possedevo una macchina da cucire. Nessun progetto divertente qui! Avevo preso in prestito la macchina di mia sorella, ma non si accendeva. Alla vigilia di Capodanno, una scatola GRANDE era seduta sul mio portico - una macchina da cucire nuova di zecca! ! Mi sentivo un po 'come Motel in Fiddler on the Roof mostrando a tutti la mia nuova macchina! Fare progetti mi è venuto naturale, poiché ho fatto un lavoro preciso con macchinari pesanti e metallo. Ho affondato tutti i miei soldi per i regali di Natale per ottenere tutto ciò di cui avevo bisogno per i miei primi progetti ed è iniziata una nuova dipendenza!
Pensando alla pila di bellissime cose a maglia di mia madre senza proprietari e alla mia crescente pila di cose cucite, le ho chiesto se voleva avviare un negozio Etsy con me. Da lì, è stato un progetto super divertente per noi da fare insieme.
Siamo entrambi ispirati a creare per migliorare la vita di qualcun altro. Forse hai bisogno di uno scaldatesta da indossare per quell'intervista e non rovinarti i capelli, un portafoglio per contenere tutte le tue carte importanti, il tuo nuovo membro della famiglia ha bisogno di un caldo abbraccio da un maglione lavorato a mano, o hai bisogno di quella borsa perfetta per tutti i giorni, vogliamo essere lì con te e renderti qualcosa di davvero speciale. Nulla è prodotto in serie o semplificato per realizzare un profitto. Ogni pezzo che realizziamo è stato realizzato perché è quello che ci siamo sentiti di fare in quel momento e vogliamo trasmetterlo a voi! Buon Shopping!!
We are a mother-daughter team of crafters. The beginnings of our shop happened with a string of events during Christmas of 2015. I have always loved my mom's knitted creations but was always afraid to ask for them for free because she spends hours making each project. This Christmas she had an entire basket of things she had made and had a free-for-all with the family. The items in it where gone within minutes - like a really good pie that took hours to make and devoured in 5 seconds.
At that same party, my aunt asked me what new sewing projects I was working on. The truth was, I've been working on a cross-stitch for about 3 years, but I told her I didn't own a sewing machine. No fun projects here! I had borrowed my sister's machine, but it didn't turn on. On New Years Eve, a BIG box was sitting on my porch - a brand new sewing machine!! I felt a little like Motel in Fiddler on the Roof showing everyone my new machine! Making projects came naturally to me, as I have done precise work with heavy machinery and metal. I sunk in all my Christmas present money to get everything I needed for my first projects and a new addiction was started!
Thinking about my mom's pile of beautiful knitted things with no owners and my growing pile of sewn things, I asked if she wanted to start an Etsy store with me. From there, it's been a super fun project for us to do together.
We are both inspired to craft to enhance someone else's life. Maybe you need a head warmer to wear to that interview and not mess up your hair, a wallet to hold all your important cards, your newest family member needs a warm hug from a hand-knit sweater, or you need that perfect purse for everyday, we want to be there with you and make you something really special. Nothing is mass produced or streamlined to make a profit. Every piece we make was made because that's what we felt like making at the time and we want to pass it along to you! Happy Shopping!!
