Eu vi um vídeo de um loiro dividindo um pouco de madeira de maçã e cortando uma colher em branco. Fiquei intrigado ao vê-lo transformar um pedaço de madeira em uma bela colher útil! Eu estive em uma longa jornada aprendendo este ofício histórico e eu tenho que dizer que eu amo isso. É sobre a madeira e transformá-la em algo bonito e útil. É uma arte e uma habilidade, que continuo a aprender e a aperfeiçoar. Comecei a catalogar meu trabalho e a manter um diário de onde estou, que tipo de madeira encontro e o que fazer aquela colher me ensinou.
Minha esposa, que é excepcionalmente talentosa, me mantém inspirado e me desafia a sair da minha zona de conforto. Juntos, caminhamos pelos canais de West Midlands e sonhamos em um dia viver em um barco do canal cozinhando e fazendo coisas para vender. Foi aí que surgiu o nome Tow Path Crafts. Claro que não se trata apenas de fazer colheres, haverá mais por vir. Estamos apenas começando. Obrigado por ler nossa história, é apenas um pouco da jornada que começamos juntos há 5 anos.

I seen a video of a bloke splitting some apple wood and axing out a spoon blank. It intrigued me to watch him turn a hunk of wood into a beautiful useful spoon! I’ve been on a long journey learning this historic craft and I got to say I love it. It’s about the wood and making it into something beautiful and useful. It is an art and a skill, one that I continue to learn and hone. I began to catalog my work, and keep a journal of where I am, what kind of wood I find and what making that spoon has taught me.
My wife who is exceptionally talented keeps me inspired and challenges me to go out of my comfort zone. Together we walk the canals of the West Midlands and dream of one day living on a canal boat cooking, and making things to sell. That’s where the name Tow Path Crafts emerged. Of course it’s not just about making spoons, there will be more to come. We are just getting started. Thank you for reading our story, it’s just a smidge of the journey we began together 5 years ago.
