Ho quasi 50 anni e sto provando qualcosa di nuovo. Sono una mamma, un'insegnante, una moglie, un'amica e un'aspirante falegname. Da piccola ho sempre lavorato in officina con mio padre e ho adorato ogni singolo momento. È venuto a mancare qualche anno fa ed è stato davvero difficile senza di lui. Prima di morire, ci ha aiutato a costruire un fienile vicino a casa nostra che avevamo sempre immaginato sarebbe diventato una sorta di officina, più per mio marito che per me, in realtà. Ma di recente, ho iniziato a dedicare del tempo a usare i nostri attrezzi, quelli di mio padre, e a creare cose che amo. È stato divertente, terapeutico, liberatorio, stimolante e illuminante. Ho scoperto nuovi talenti, ho provato entusiasmo e gioia di vivere e ho imparato tantissimo lungo il percorso (e la strada è ancora lunghissima!).
I'm a nearly 50 year old woman and I'm trying something new. I'm a mom, a teacher, a wife, friend, and wannabe woodworker. I always did projects out in the shop with my dad growing up and loved every minute of it. He passed away a few years ago and it's been really hard without him. Before he passed, he helped us build a barn at our house that we always envisioned would one day be a workshop of sorts, more for my husband than me really. But recently, I have taken to spending time using our tools, my dad's tools, and creating things I love. It's been fun, healing, freeing, empowering, and eye opening. I have found new talents, felt excitement and zest for life, and learned so so much along the way (with a loooooong way to go!)
