Parece que he estado construyendo disfraces toda mi vida. Eso es lo que hice durante muchos años: diseñé e hice disfraces para programas de baile y obras de teatro hasta que mi esposo se jubiló y quería viajar a donde nos llevara una casa rodante. Así lo hicimos. Me retiré también, encontré un lugar para la máquina de coser y los suministros de costura en la casa rodante y nos fuimos con el perro a viajar por este gran país nuestro. Mis manos nunca estuvieron inactivas. El esposo conducía y yo cosía. En su mayoría cosí artículos navideños o pequeñas cosas que di como regalos a amigos y familiares que visitamos en el camino. Cuando finalmente regresamos a casa después de muchos años de la vida de R V, todavía necesitaba algo para mantenerme ocupado. Me enteré de ETSY y decidí que haría disfraces para niños. Nueve años después sigo divirtiéndome, todavía sentada en la máquina de coser y decidiendo dónde irá esta pieza de encaje, o quiero usar cintas, ¿cómo quiero cerrar esta prenda?, botones a juego, botones inigualables, corbatas o ranas.
Siempre trato de diseñar pensando en los niños y cuál sería la forma más fácil para que disfruten de sus disfraces.

It seems I have been building costumes all my life. That is what I did for many years--I designed and made costumes for dance programs and plays up until my husband retired and wanted to travel where ever a motor home would take us. So-we did. I retired also, found a place for the sewing machine and sewing supplies in the motor home and we were off with the dog to travel this great country of ours. My hands were never idle. The hubby drove and I sewed. I mostly sewed holiday items or little things that I gave as gifts to friends and family we visited on the way. When we finally returned home after many years of the R V life--I still needed somethings to keep me busy. I found out about ETSY and decided I would make Children's costumes. Nine years later I am still having fun- still sitting at the sewing machine and deciding where this piece of lace will go, or do I want to use ribbons--how do I want to close this garment--matching buttons, unmatched buttons, ties or frogs?
I always try to design with the kids in mind and what would be the easiest way for them to enjoy their costumes.
