Hand lettering & mindful musings intended to empower & inspire the divergent creatives, storytellers, conscious parents, artists & misfits among us.
My name is Lizzy, and This is my (Un)Scripted Life. I spend my beautiful days as mama to Eleanor (8/2012) and Conrad (5/2014), wife and partner to my husband Nick, and maven of all things that catch my eye, intellect, or heart. I am the creator behind (Un)Scripted Living (formerly known as Inspired Family), a mindful living conference/retreat series, and owner of this Etsy shop (Un)Scripted where you can find art prints and notecards of my unique hand lettering. Hand lettering is meditation for me. I prefer words and phrases that really make you think, and that encourage conversations about things that matter deeply to the human experience. I create hand lettered art prints and notecards that reflect the modern woman and family: mindful and present, appreciative of inspiration, tackling real conversations, connected to gratitude, and exploring the depths of self to live a wholly authentic life. I hope that my work will inspire and uplift you in your homes, offices, playrooms, and nurseries.
I was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey (city girl for life), but I am currently living in the PA countryside (about an hour outside of Philly) and I absolutely LOVE IT. Prior to stay-at-home motherhood, my professional career was in Student Affairs Administration at Temple University, with a focus on social justice education, leadership initiatives, event planning, service learning programs, and crisis response. I also served as adjunct faculty in Women’s & Gender Studies at The College of New Jersey, teaching Politics of Sexuality, Gender & Pop Culture, and Women, Culture, & Society. I earned my BA in History and Women’s & Gender Studies at Douglass College of Rutgers University and my MA in Women’s & Gender Studies at Rutgers University.
My passions are mindful living, fitness, hiking, early childhood education, anything crafty (especially making hand crafted toys for my two little loves), art journaling, babywearing, gender and feminism, reading, social justice, service to others, and living a life that leaves the world better than I found it.
