Not sure what Foundation Paper Piecing is? Want to learn how to learn to sew Foundation Paper Piecing block and learn to design your own blocks? This is the #LearnToFPP ebook is just the thing for you!
Over the years, I have learned so much about FPP and found my own ways of designing FPP blocks and quilts (on graph paper and in EQ8). I have been asked many times how I learned, and if there was a resource of some sort out there that I used so they could learn too. There wasn’t, until now. Through my experiences as an instructor, I want to share with you all that I have learned, and the best way to do that, is to start with the basics: techniques and shapes.
The PDF booklet is formatted to teach you one new lesson each month. Of course you can do a lesson a week (or a new one each day), but when skill building, it’s always great to take your time and really explore all the possibilities with each lesson, especially as they become more detailed. The first eight months are the skill builder lessons, and the last four months are challenges to put those skills to work. Ultimately, when you complete this booklet, it is my hope that you will have the knowledge-base to design your own FPP blocks, and have the skill set to translate a standard patchwork block into a foundation paper piecing pattern.
There are two completely different quilt layouts (the pictorial Mini House Quilt, and the Modern Quilt) that both use the basic blocks presented in the early monthly lessons.
