Craft supplies may be handmade or vintage in nature, or they can be commercial (meaning they are not handmade or vintage). Party supplies may also be sold as Craft Supplies.

- Patterns
- DIY kits
- "Blanks" whose primary purpose is for crafting

Party supplies are also allowed on Etsy. Examples of party supplies include:
- Balloons
- Confetti
- Cake toppers
Examples of items that do not qualify as craft supplies:
- Mass-produced clothing and accessories ready for retail sale
- "Blanks" that are ready to use as is
