The ancient glass in these handmade earrings is between 900-1200 years old. It was discovered in a Northern Afghanistan marketplace that had been buried for centuries.

One of the pieces has a lot of calcification, while the other is "cleaner" and more transparent. Both are beautiful, and both seem to have a story to tell. The colors are aqua green, reminding me of the Caribbean oceans. Because I wanted the glass to stand out on its own, I chose to add no other embellishment other than the wire and small spacer beads that were necessary to make the earrings.

All metal is sterling silver.

Hang 1.25" from top of handmade sterling ear wires
Glass = 10x13mm and 12x13mm (these are approximate measurements due to variances depending on where I put the gauge.)
