This knife is completely handmade. Its blade is a laminate of ancient wrought iron and modern 1084 high carbon steel. These materials are heated in a forge to the point that they are almost melting, then hammered on an anvil to weld them together (This is called forge welding). The wrought iron, which is soft and fibrous forms a sort of jacket around the hard high carbon core. This allows the blade to have increased toughness, and it creates a very nice pattern on the blade.

The blade has been heat treated to give it a hard and durable cutting edge. The handle is a piece of hand split figured oak, copper, and leather. It's all attached with high quality epoxy, and a solid nickle silver pin. The sheath is also completely made by hand. It is vegetable tanned leather with copper reinforcements. The belt hanger is one of my favorite styles, it can be easily modified from a belt knife to a neck knife, or you can lash it to a pack.

Blade length: 4"
Handle length: 4"
Spine thickness: 3/16" at the handle

This knife has a wide range of uses. It's the sort of thing you'd carry everyday. Everything from wood carving to food cutting.
