Go on, shoot for the moon. Why not?

Hand painted in oil with an itty bitty brush is a pearl-like, glowing moon on a glossy black, oil enamel backdrop. Clean and captivating. Miniature letters accompany this outer space scene opposite the moon (which, I might add, is meticulously detailed). Made with lots 'o patience, lots.

Each piece is photographed before posting, so the one depicted in the pictures is precisely what this listing is for. The painting is built up over many days, allowing first the background and then the layers to dry as details and colors are added.

MATERIAL:
The locket is two-tone brass and comes from vintage stock, so each piece has its own bit of natural tarnish. The diameter of the sphere is 18 mm - same as a dime.
Many people have told me they prefer to wear them closed and keep the painting a secret, though I love to wear them open on display. Either way they're quite magnetic. The chain is raw brass which will oxidize to a deep vintage gold over time (don't worry, it doesn't mark skin or clothes). It measures 20" (50.8 centimeters), and is closed with a lobster clasp.

SHIPPING:
Each locket comes in its very own decorative tin (surprise!), bedded in tissue paper and tucked in an envelope tied with a colored ribbon. Padded kraft envelopes will keep it snug and safe. Shipping is first class with delivery confirmation (tracking) for domestic packages, and first class with a customs form for international. I ship 2-3 days a week, to get orders out promptly.
