This is a patchwork style wool pad made from strips of upcycled wool felt. The sections are zig-zagged stitched together by laying the layers on top of each other, creating a flat seam.
The edges are serged with a four thread overlock stitch, with high quality cream colored thread.

SIZE: This 15x21" wool puddle pad is made to use as a play mat, a puddle pad for elimination communication babies, or a small mattress protector. This provides a natural barrier and a natural sleeping environment for your little one. With all of the harmful chemicals like brominated flame retardant all over our furniture, mattresses, and sleepwear, why not provide a natural place for your baby to lay?

WHERE IS THE WOOL FROM? This wool is from a few wool blankets. I washed and felted it on hot in a commercial washer and dryer. The edges have been serged to prevent fraying.

This pad will arrived lanolized and ready to use. It will feel tacky, that is the lanolin that helps provide the moisture and odor resistance qualities.

CARE: Wash on delicate in your machine, with cold water. Use a lanolin enriched wool wash, like Eucalan. Lanolize in your bath tub: first mix boiling water with a teaspoon of Eucalan and a teaspoon of solid lanolin (more if desired). Let it cool to a tepid temperature. Fill your tub with tepid water, add your tepid wool wash mixture, then add the wool. Allow the lanolin to work its way into the pad, gently massaging it in. Let it soak for 1-24 hours, periodically massaging the lanolin into the pad. Gently remove the water and squeeze the pad between a towel (or spin it out in your washing machine), lay flat to dry on a drying rack.
While soaking, be sure to keep babies and children clear of the standing water.
