A wheel thrown, handmade pottery spoon rest. This is the most useful kitchen utensil! I have two: one on the stove and one that stays in the dishwasher! I use my spoon rest everyday! This may also be used as a teabag holder, candle holder, or dipping bowl for seasoned olive oil! This is a wheel thrown, original spoon rest made with Warm Brown Stoneware clay! It is signed Lauren Bausch (me) on the bottom. The glaze is a rich merlot color with speckles from the clay body.

It is 5 inches in diameter and comfortably holds spoons of all sizes! Features a beautiful swirl from the wheel that also helps to drain the spoon. Fired to cone 6 (2165 degrees Fahrenheit).

It is dishwasher and food friendly!

Frequently asked questions about LaurenBauschOriginal

Dishwasher:
Pottery can be both hand washed and placed in the dishwasher. All functional pottery is dishwasher safe. Some people suggest hand washing is best, but I use the dishwasher for all of my pottery (my pieces and other artists' pots).

Microwave:
Pottery is microwave safe.

Oven: Pottery is oven safe when placed in a cool oven. Pottery must heat up with the oven. Do not pre-heat. Do not place pottery in a hot oven. This will cause thermal shock, and your pottery will crack or shatter. Allow pottery to cool before placing it into cold water.
Yes!
I only use food safe/ food approved glazes. These raw materials are fired to the temperature of maturation to ensure health and safety.
All glazes are 100% lead free.
I take custom orders if I'm able to. It depends on my schedule and the project. Custom orders take at least 4 weeks for production: throwing or hand building, drying, firing cycles, glazing...
All of the items in my shop are in stock and ready to ship. I often have pots in stock that I don't have listed in my shop. If there's something that you're interested in just contact me.
My number 1 goal is your gift arriving safely. I use plenty of bubble wrap and sturdy corrugated boxes to protect your pottery.

I've shipped out over 1500 pieces of pottery, and only 5 or 6 arrived broken (knocking on wood). Usually the box arrives crushed when this happens. Orange fragile stickers are no help when this happens! It's rare, but pottery is fragile.

Gift Wrap: I am happy to help with your gift giving and celebrations! I have stationery on hand for nearly any occasion and also make handmade cards. Just let me know what message you need.
