African porcupine quills make a linear statement in these tribal inspired earrings. The African porcupine quills are securely mounted inside spent brass bullet casings. They are suspended from lengths of vintage milky-white glass rosary beads (salvaged form a rosary that was broken beyond repair). They comfortably drop to right above the collarbones on an average sized woman.

The earrings are 6.5" long from the top of the oxidized brass ear wires to the bottom of the quills.

The quills have had their barbs removed and the tips have been sanded smooth, so they will not harm you. However, porcupine quills are made out of keratin, the same material as human fingernails, so they are lightweight but fragile if crushed or bent.

My supplier has assured me that no animals were killed solely for their quills. They are "drops" (naturally shed) or are from animals that were hunted for meat.

Thanks for supporting handmade.
