This silver brooch has been carefully crafted from Sterling silver wire using basic tools and techniques, giving the finished piece a cruder and more genuine appearance than mass-produced cast pieces. It also makes it one of a kind, as no two brooches made this way will ever be exactly alike.

The design was based upon archaeological finds from Bournemouth universities "Durotriges Big Dig" (http://courses.bournemouth.ac.uk/courses/training-course/the-durotriges-big-dig-2012-archaeology-field-school/none/1294/ ) The original finds date back to around 50-250AD.

The brooch is approximately 3.5cm in diameter. It is larger than my other brooches, and is made from slightly wider gauge wire, and has been barrel polished to a high shine.

It will be sent in a velour effect black leather pouch and includes a small A5 card explaining what it is and giving more background information on the Big Dig archaeological project.
