Sweet little story similar to the Elves and the Shoemaker, wherein a group of woodland brownies creep out of the forest to assist an elderly couple who are overwhelmed with work. Of course in the end, the old couple make new clothes for the tiny folk. I hope I haven't spoiled the ending!

Beautifully and simply illustrated by Elizabeth Orton Jones, written by Gladys L. Aldshead and published by Henry Z. Walck, Inc, NY.

Text and illustrations are all in orange and brown.

unpagiinated, app. 5" x 7"

The end cover has a lovely little child-made library pocket and check-out system. Photo 5. Cover has the original owner's name and date.
