This is a unique one of a kind gourd crab. Many of the gourds I grow myself. Each gourd takes on a personality all its own and no two are exactly alike.

They are approximately 7 1/2 & 8 inches tall (not including the stem) and measures 17 1/2 & 19 1/4 inches around their widest point.

They are stained Lobster Red and sealed for protection.

They will be your favorite decorations and you will use them year after year.

Looks great in a grouping!

There is an old legend that says, "If you give or receive a gourd...with it goes all the best of life...health, happiness, and other good things."(Marvin Johnson,Fuqua Varina, NC)

What on earth is a gourd? A gourd is the fruit of certain members of the cucurbitaceous family, which also includes pumpkins, squash, cucumbers, and all the melons.

Archaeological discoveries in such arid places as the pyramids of Egypt and acient cave sites in the Andes Mountains of Peru provide fascinating proof that human beings have been using gourds for Millennia.

Gourds were among our first lightweight containers, allowing us to hold water and precious seeds, nuts, and other foods. When we learned how to make clay pots, it was only natural to imitate in clay the shapes of gourds that we knew so well
