One of the Original and Uniquely American Art Forms are the Ceramic Face Jugs potted in both North and South Carolina. Appartently the Uglier the Face is the better the jug.
Some art historians think that the origin of these jugs was that they were first made to hold "Moon-Shine" and that the reason they were made to look ugly was to keep children away from them and what they contained. A logical explanation. As time has past this Art Form has grown and taken an important place in Southern Americana.
We're offering for sale quite an Ugly Face Jug crafted by the well known potter South Carolina Artist Marvin Bailey. It stands 6 inches tall and the base is 5 inches in diameter. Condition is excellent. No chips or cracks. It weighs almost 2 1/2 pounds.
The postal charge is approximate. If it actually costs more than indicated we will absorb the extra charge. If, on the other hand, it's less than indicate by more than a dollar we will refund the difference to the buyer. It all depends on the buyer's ZIP code.
The pictures that accompany this offering are an intregal part of it and are of the actual piece the buyer will receive.
