ONE handmade ceramic sewing button. These ceramic buttons are sold individually so you can choose as many or as little that you need for your project.

These handmade buttons are handmade by me in my home studio. These square in shape with a scalloped or wavy edge as shown.

These are larger buttons measure approximately 1 1/8" or 3 cm square. They have two holes in them for sewing onto your projects. They are glazed with a lime green speckled specialty glaze as shown. The darker specks are a dark green. The main colour is lime green. They are glazed on both the front and back. The last pictue shows the back of the buttons. It's hard to tell they are the back as they look almost as good as the front.

These buttons are part of my designer series of artisan buttons. They are each little pieces of art.

Use anywhere you would normally use ceramic buttons and add a one of a kind touch to your creations.

My handmade resin buttons are available here:

A bit about how the buttons are made:
The buttons start out as raw clay that I roll out and shape individually. The clay must dry for about a week and then it is bisque fired in my kiln (at my home studio). This gets the buttons ready for their colour. Once the buttons are cooled they are ready to be painted with the glaze. Most glazes take three coats to obtain the proper colour. The glaze takes at least one day to dry before they are ready for the glaze firing. They are fired in the kiln a second time. They must be carefully balanced in the kiln on kiln stilts (little wires so they don't touch the bottom of the kiln shelf) and so that the back can get a nice smoothe shiney glaze as well. Most of my buttons are glazed on the back as I think it makes them stronger and it just looks nicer.

Other Important Stuff:

If you want to use my buttons on items for your Etsy or elsewhere that's no problem. I love to see my buttons on items that you make.

Please note that buttons (like any small object) are a choking hazzard and should not be used on items for small children under three.
