Rare historic garment made by the New England Knitting Co./Nekconit Winsted, Connecticut. Gorgeous old wool in a smooth, plain ribbed knit; rich cream in color with a subtle gray heathered effect. Substantial, dense and cozy with a great slim fit. Soft cotton overlay yoke at the waist, with three buttons up the front, a drawstring tie at the back, and ample loops at each side for hanging. Gusseted, double-reinforced crotch is lined with soft knit cotton. Classic, early 20th-century Americana; practical and quality-made.

Best for a women's xs/xxs. May have originally been a boy's or young girl's garment due to the small size/narrowness of the hips.

Waist: about 28", can be drawn slightly smaller
Hip: about 30-32"
Inseam: 25.5"
Rise: 14.25" front, 15" back
Length: 40"

These are in good condition considering their age and utilitarian purpose. When I acquired them, they had a smattering of small moth holes throughout, which I have painstakingly darned with similarly-toned vintage yarn (see photos). The cotton yoke shows softening and wear, as does the wool (add very minor pilling), and one of the buttons is a mismatch. These have been washed on the cold/short/wool cycle, laid flat to dry, and are ready to wear. International customers, please contact me for a shipping quote.
