Folks, I am usually a bit of an smart aleck when I write these descriptions, but there is no way I can do that to our veterans. The courage they displayed is one of the things that made me join the Marine Corps. Back in the days before we had the tall combat boots, the leggings were used to keep dirt and garbage out of the short boots. They were worn by all branches of the service. The Marine Corps tended to ditch them in the pacific because they would keep the mud and water inside preventing drainage. In the European theater, they were more visible, although some people wore them inside their trousers because wearing them on the outside would reduce the 'ventilation'. These are the mustard tan leggings worn by the US Army. They are full size, not cut down, size 3. The listing is for 1 PAIRThe date stamped inside is 2/22/44. These leggings were actually worn so they are frayed and stained, however they are fully intact.
