Bartholomew Cubbins (of the 500 hats fame) is back, this time as page boy to King Derwin of Didd. Old Derwin is more than a bit full of himself. When he gets bored with ordinary weather, he orders his magicians to produce something new, something uniquely his. Unfortunately for him, this is rather new territory for the resident sorcerors and he ends up with an endless rain of gloppy green goo called Oobleck. It gums up everything (literally), including the king on his throne. Only when King Derwin admits that he was wrong and is sorry for his arrogance, with a bit of prodding from our hero Bart, do things go back to normal. Funny story, good moral (but not heavy handed) and awesome art. Another wonderful treasure by Dr. Seuss.

This copy is ex-library in very nice condition. Gentle use wear and strong, tight binding.

Dr. Seuss Vintage kids book Bartholomew and the Oobleck: a bossy king, strange magic and gloppy green goo makes for a very sticky situation
