A water jug such as this one, is handy to use outside while gardening or working. I always have one nearby during these hot days.
This bottle was made from a stoneware clay body, thrown and wood fired in reduction. There is a horizontal rib pattern all around the piece. The pot is traditional, rustic, and inspired by the 1800- Early American pottery jugs. The pot is a speckled, smoky, walnut brown color with peach, apricot and black. It was side fired in the kiln, leaving behind tan circular wad marks from the firing process. The inside is lined with a shino glaze. This jug will hold about a quart of liquid.

The form is both functional, decorative, and safe for drinking liquids from.
