A unique, handmade wigwam...or teepee...in a light, bright cotton with a gorgeous whale appliqué! I wanted to create a wigwam that would be light enough to take on your travels (to the beach, the countryside, the park) but, at the same time, a design that would fit into a child's playroom. I wanted an appliqué that would appeal to boys and girls alike and a fabric that would be light enough to provide shade for your child during outside play whilst being durable enough for light play. This wigwam looks at home on the decking, on the grass or even in the front room!

Children just love to play....playing feeds the imagination, develops an inquisitive mind and entertains children whilst they learn! This is the perfect addition to any toddler's playroom for just those reasons! Right, that's my teacher speech out of the way! Now on with the information....

The carrying bags included in the package, mean that it can be easily stored when not in use and, just as easily, popped in the car (to be carried by an adult) to the beach or the park. There is a simple tote bag for the tent (with room for other bits and pieces) and an open-ended tent pole bag (that will carry your chosen 4 poles, slung over one shoulder).

There are NO POLES included with this wigwam, as to do so would dramatically increase the cost of postage. I've found it easy to buy the poles required. A local hardware / DIY store would be able to sell you dowel poles of appropriate measures....or...just as easily....you could pop to your local garden centre (with your tape measure) and buy a set of bamboo canes of appropriate dimensions. One of my friends even used plastic pipe of the correct dimensions. So, don't be put off....the poles are simple to obtain and the wigwam is simple to put up. One thing though: if using bamboo, do make sure you insert the canes carefully into the rod casing so as to avoid doing any damage to the fabric....bamboo does have some sharp bits at times.

The wigwam has 4 panels, one of which has the opening. The average floor area within the wigwam is approximately 35" x 35" (88.5cm x 88.5cm). The height is 41" (104cm)* This tent has been designed for a toddler and a few of the toys...a secret den or hideaway. I have not included a button fastening on this one (that can be closed from inside) like I have on the lizard tent but I can do that if you would like -- just tell me at checkout.
*These measurements are approximate and can vary slightly according to how the tent is arranged on the ground and how high the tent is pulled up the pole (allowing extra ground clearance).

Like all handmade items, I feel it is important to stress that measurements may vary ever so slightly but the quality does not. Naturally, this item should only be used with adult supervision and should be checked every time (for correct set-up and safety reasons) before use by the child. The wigwam should be kept away from fire and sharp objects or environments (so as not to damage the fabric). It should not be left out in the rain or adverse weather for any length of time; as with any non-waterproof fabric, this would be detrimental to the longevity of the wigwam.

If you are interested but have more questions OR if you would like a postage cost for a destination that I have not listed then please do convo me. Similarly, if you like the wigwam but would like an appliqué idea for your own child then I would be interested to hear from you (....I'm always up for a challenge) as we could agree a custom design (feel free to use the convo feature or the custom order form on our homepage). Some of the other items in the photos are also available for purchase in our shop - take a look!

Finally, our planet-friendly information: this fabric has been donated (and I have more if you have any other ideas). The sewing machine was powered wholly by our solar supply during the creation of the wigwam!!

Thank you so much for looking!! Don't hesitate to contact me if you would like to know more! ;0)

All my normal policies apply.
Nb: I have provided (what I think is) a generous estimate for p&p at checkout. If the actual cost is significantly less (after my own reasonable costs) I will contact you to agree a p&p and will reimburse the difference. I have not posted one of these before and I appreciate your understanding in this matter.
