This original watercolor fashion illustration, which I call the Orange Daytime Ensemble, was created in 1948 by a design student named Gloria Sande. The assignment was to design a dress for the woman with a "heavy bust." Rich tobacco brown gloves, shoes and hatband add contrast.

The instructor gave this project an A- and noted, "very attractive color scheme, good emphasis on hips helps detract from bust."

This is an original work of art - not a print, copy or reproduction - that measures 10 x 15 inches. These illustrations were found near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but I don't know what school Sande attended.

Condition: Very good. All of these drawings have darkened along the edges over time and may show smudges and pencil marks from the artist's hand. She used Crescent 300 illustration board.
