Vintage print by early-19th century botanical illustrator Jean Louis Prévost. Features a bouquet of morning glories, roses, tulip, and peony. A stipple engraving from Prévost's 'Collection des Fleurs et des Fruits'. Lovely muted colors. Signature "J.L. Prevost" at bottom, with the mark SLZ in a circle, used by the Sidney Z. Lucas print shop from 1940-1960.

In wood frame with a dark mahogany stain, behind glass. Frame is a unique and lovely design, with decorative cut outs around outer edge. Center edge is painted gilt. Papered back, with wire for hanging. Price tag on back from E.W. Edwards & Son, a prominent mid-century upstate NY department store.

Frame measures 11" x 14 1/8". Print view is 8 5/8" x 11 5/8".

Good vintage condition. Print is aged and somewhat faded, but has no visible damage. Frame has some damage and scrapes, but overall still looks quite nice and could be touched up easily. Paper on back is tattered at the edges and quite loose, but still intact.

❋ ❋ ❋ ❋ ❋ Please note: I have another Prévost print in a matching frame available here.
