A fun find for a vacation cottage, inn, B&B, or just your guest room! This unused guest book's cover art includes a country gentleman and woman in fancy period dress, with a little dog and birds surrounding a nice cottage. Likely 1950's or 1960's vintage. The message to the guests that is printed on the front reads:

Here you can be sure you are welcome -- and the more trouble you give, the more things you call for -- the more welcome you are. Bot to bed with your shoes on, if you like. After all, our washwoman has to live. Have a good nightmare occasionally. We don't mind being scared out of our wits in the middle of the night; it makes sleep that much sweeter when it does come. Sip your soup with "sound effects" and think nothing of it. We love dinner music. Don't think we mind leaving your spoon in your coffee. We don't. It helps us to tell it's not missing. IN SHORT, BE YOURSELF, HAVE A GOOD TIME, AND COM AGAIN--"

While the pages are blank (so perhaps the book was unused), there is a bit of wear to the pattern on the cover, and the wooden "spine" of the book has some scratches. The book is held to the spine with metal rings (which have wear to the finish) and leather. Covers are faux wood. Includes about 15 blank double-sided pages. The book measures 11 1/2" tall x 10 1/2" wide (including the leather knots).
