Short Story Long:
This is a lovely, feminine rug from the late 1970s/early 1980s. It was made during a time when Chinese exports/imports were limited. India took advantage of this by creating rugs that looked like the Chinese reproductions of French pieces that were so popular at the time. So, you have an Indian rug, made to look like a Chinese rug, made to look like a French rug. In the industry, these types of rugs were referred to as "Super Chindian" rugs. I kid you not.
Anywho, this particular rug is ready to party. It is in good shape with just a bit of "shelf-wear" that you might expect from a wall-flower rug that has been in our inventory for few decades. The pattern of the flowers of this rug are almost carved out of the pile of the rug to give it an extra dimension. It is light, bright, fluffy, and would look wonderful in a sunroom or little girl's nursery.
