Antique apothecary scale. Manufactured by The Torsion Balance Company around the turn of the last century.

The company used a series of three steel bands held at torsion to keep their scales in balance. Company motto: No Friction. No Wear. No Knife Edges. It is extremely rare to find a scale of this nature with all of the steel torsion bands intact and with included measuring dishes. Scale is in balance still. Originally rated in a laboratory environment to be accurate to within half a grain. Features leveling feet for ease of use.

Included is a single one pound brass mass and a single eight ounce metal mass as pictured.

Made in NYC. Speaks for itself. Get your weight up.
