This is a great example of a somewhat more refined yet still obviously reclaimed wood dining table. I'm a big fan of the super rough earthy barnwood furniture as much as anyone is but this kind of material can also be made into things with a more contemporary vibe as this particular table shows. The wood top is made from roof rafters reclaimed from a 100 year old tobacco barn. The species is American beech. Beech is supremely hard and durable, as hard as oak or maple. Beech certainly has more character than either maple or oak in my opinion. The top has been treated with several coats of dark raw tung oil from realmilkpaint.com. Pure tung oil is the most authentic way to protect and treat antique wood. The oil gives a smooth, matte look and feel not possible with poly or varnish. If you apply a freshen-up coat every 6 months you'll find that liquid will bead on the surface without resorting to the ugly plastic look of poly.

The hairpin legs here are the heavy duty 3 rod legs from hairpinlegs.com. They are left in their raw steel color and clear coated with lacquer.

The table measures 30" across by 60" long by 29.5" high. It will seat 4 very comfortably. Custom sizes are available, please feel free to ask for a quote on your size.

The photos here show a table recently sold to an etsy buyer and is typical of what you can expect if you order one. The wood used for these tables is all from the same barns so each table, while unique, will have the same overall color & character as the photo. This table is now a regular etsy item for us and we will be building them to order weekly.

Long distance shipping is available via UPS freight. The legs will be removed for shipping and you will only need a Phillips screwdriver to attach them. Inn most cases the cost will be $140 and is a flat rate based on just about anywhere in the country except the west coast, Boston and NYC. If you live in Boston, NYC, CA, WA, Oregon or Arizona the shipping is $195. Everywhere else is $140, no need to contact me for a shipping quote.
